LEAP! Leadership, Empowerment & Achievement Program
Are you looking to make new friends outside of school?
Do you like to try new things?
LEAP! is a group for teens with hearing loss, where they can meet other youth with hearing loss and build confidence.
NEW this Fall LEAP will now be an online program, both to abide by covid-19 restrictions and to offer the program provincially.
LEAP stands for Leadership, Empowerment and Achievement program and consists of a variety of activities such as guest speakers, leadership skills, advocacy skills, speech reading, life skills and employment skills. It also encourages positive social skill development in a welcoming atmosphere where hearing loss is something everyone has in common.
Youth will meet online and take place every second Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM online, starting October 6th and finishing December 15th. Activities to expect in this new leap format include:
- Art Classes
- Accessible Discussions and online social interactions with other youth
- Yoga and Martial Arts
- Guest speakers
- And Much More!
Confidence to be yourself is an important part of growing up. Life can feel scary sometimes and there can be hurdles to overcome. The LEAP! program has been created by the Association to give teens tools and skills for life.
